Our Team

Edge Investment Management will manage the Qualifying Investment portfolio with a team that brings together VCT fund management, live event promotion, accountancy, tax and deal structuring skills. The team includes:

Gordon Power – has 20 year experience in private equity fund management with particular expertise in the media sector and returning an IRR of approximately 30% on 171 investments. He has managed the Guinness Flight and the ProVen VCTs.

Alasdair George – is a qualified (non-practising) solicitor who has extensive experience of legal, strategic, commercial and operational management in the entertainment industry having been Senior Vice President of Legal & Business Affairs at Sony BMG UK, sitting on its management board, and on the council of the record industry trade association, the BPI. He joined Edge Investment Management in early 2007.

Harvey Goldsmith CBE – has been one of the UK’s pioneering promoters since the 1960s and has worked with many international artists. Major events he has promoted include the Prince’s Trust Rock Gala (1982), Live Aid (1985) and Live 8 (2006).

David Glick – is a qualified (non-practising) solicitor specialising in the commercial media and entertainment industry. He has been involved in most aspects of the music industry, advising many well known artists on contractual arrangements surrounding their concerts and tours, as well as brokering and advising on the sale and purchase of multi-million pound entertainment assets. He founded the Edge Group in 2004.

Kate Glick – is a qualified chartered accountant and chartered tax adviser and member of the Securities & Investment Institute. Her experience included insolvency & turnaround and tax.

Experienced Board

The Board will be responsible for overseeing the Company’s investment policy and comprises David Glick together with four other non-executive directors with a wide variety of relevant experience:

Sir Robin Miller (Chairman) – has many years experience across different aspects of the media industry. He has been both Chief Executive and then Chairman of EMAP plc and has served as a non-executive director on the boards of HMV Group plc, Moss Bros Group plc and Channel 4 Television. He is currently chairman of Boosey & Hawkes and Clarion Events Ltd.

Julian Paul FCA – following a career in the City, has been a director of various quoted media companies and is a director of Eagle Rock Entertainment.

Michael Eaton – is a qualified (non-practising) solicitor having practised at Stephenson Harwood, Eatons and Mishcon de Reya. Currently CEO of Bushbranch Limited, manager of Eric Clapton.

Frank Presland – is a qualified (non-practising) solicitor having been Senior Partner at Frere Cholmely Bischoff and Chairman of Eversheds. Currently, CEO of Twenty-First Artists, manager of Elton John and James Blunt.
